Edward Jones Named One of Canada’s Best Workplaces

ROB 2009 LogoThe financial-services firm Edward Jones was named to the No. 4 spot, up one spot from last year, on the "50 Best Employers in Canada” list by The Globe and Mail's Report On Business magazine and La Presse. This is the firm's seventh consecutive appearance on the list.

"We are honoured to once again be recognized by our associates as being one of the best places to work in Canada," said Gary Reamey, Principal, Edward Jones Canada. "Together our efforts are focused on one task – to serve conservative, long-term individual investors. With this winning approach that helps people reach their financial goals, we can look forward to many more years of success."

The ranking appears in the January issue of Report On Business magazine and will be circulated across Canada in the December 26, 2008 edition of The Globe and Mail and the December 31, 2008 edition of La Presse.

This year’s Best Employers Study was conducted by Report on Business magazine and Hewitt Associates, a leading global human resources outsourcing and consulting firm. The research reflects how closely associates' and leaders' goals are aligned and whether practices and programs reinforce that vision. According to Hewitt, the overall measure used to identify and rank Best Employers is employee engagement, which quantifies how closely leader's goals and fundamental values are aligned with those of their staff.

"The Edward Jones ranking is particularly significant as it is formed by the opinions of our financial advisors, branch office administrators and home-office associates," Reamey said. “We know the past year has been very unsettling for many investors, and we are committed to offering superior service to ensure our clients are met with the confidence and guidance they need to support them during this time.”
